Data Deletion Request

ChatRamen (by Peppty Technologies) gives every user the right to permanently delete their account and all associated personal data. This page explains what data is deleted, how to request deletion, and how long it takes.

What data is deleted

Your Firebase Authentication credential (email, Sign in with Apple link, or other sign-in link)
Your profile document in Firestore — replaced with an anonymised tombstone that prevents reuse of the deleted account ID
All associated records: friends and friend requests, chats, messages, notifications, blocked lists, subscription records
Profile photos and chat image uploads stored in AWS S3 under your account prefix; older web uploads may also exist in Firebase Storage under the same prefix
Real-time presence data (online status in Firebase Realtime Database)
Report documents that directly identify your account (as reporter or reported party)

What is retained

Anonymised audit logs required for legal or financial compliance (tax records, fraud prevention)
Content you reported for child-safety review — retained under mandated legal-hold until the review closes, per applicable law (e.g. NCMEC reporting obligations)
Aggregated, non-identifiable analytics signals

How to delete your account

Open the ChatRamen app on your iPhone or sign in on web (chatramen.com).

Go to Settings → Remove Account (open the Settings tab → scroll to the bottom of Settings).

Confirm the deletion and tap Remove Account. You will be asked to re-authenticate (enter your password or re-confirm Sign in with Apple).

Your account is deleted immediately. The tombstone marker and data cleanup complete within seconds; residual CDN caches clear within 24 hours.

Request deletion by email

If you cannot access the app, email support@chatramen.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request". Include the email address or sign-in identifier associated with your account. We will complete the deletion within 30 days and send a confirmation email.

Subscription cancellation

Deleting your account also cancels any active ChatRamen web subscription. If you purchased via the App Store, your subscription is managed by Apple; open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone to cancel and request a refund if applicable.
